Humble Pie is considered by many to have been a super group based on its members' credentials. Steve Marriott (guitar, vocals) had been the front man for the hugely successful Small Faces while Peter Frampton (guitar, vocals) had also received past notoriety as the guitar virtuoso of the Herd .
