The Societie was a short-lived band out of Glasgow that formed in July, 1966 and was originally called A Certain Societie. Members included Robbie Burns (lead guitar, vocals), David "Suzie" Struthers (bass), Archie "Smiler" Frame (drums) and Dave Dougall (keyboards, guitar). The group issued one 45 ('Bird Has Flown' b/w 'Breaking Down') in late 1967 on the Deram label, which was recorded in London and produced by the Hollies lead singer Allan Clarke.
