H.Y. Sledge was a very talented and underrated, yet short-lived Tampa band that formed in 1970 with original members Richard Porter (guitar, piano, harmonica, vocals), Michael Ewbank (organ, piano, vocals), Mick (formerly Jan at the time) Pulver (bass, cowbell, vocals) and David Dicks (drums). It was this lineup that recorded their one and only LP ( Bootleg Music ) on the SSS International label in early 1971, which reportedly only took about a week to complete.
