From: Cardiff, Wales
Although they released one of the most now sought after U.K. 60s psych albums, very little is known about Apple. The group formed in Cardiff, Wales in early 1968 with members Dennis Regan (vocals), Rob "Robbo" Ingram (guitar), Jeff Harrad (bass), David Brassington (drums) and Charlie Barber (piano).
The band was discovered by producer Larry Page after hearing their first single, a cover of the Scaffold track 'Thank U Very Much'. Their self-titled LP was released on Page's Page One label in early 1969 and produced by Caleb Quaye. The record was obviously inspired by The Beatles and features a slew of outstanding tracks, including 'Buffalo Billycan', 'Mr. Jones' and 'Photograph'.
Artist information sources include: The book, 'Tapestry of Delights Revisited' by Vernon Joynson.
