The Bamboo Shoot

From: Bristol, England

This obscure English band released one single in early 1968 of which the A-side is graced by 'The Fox Has Gone To Ground'. This excellent song, featuring religious style chanting and a gong, was played a few times on John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show Top Gear, but surprisingly sold very few copies. Group members included Richard Taylor (vocals, guitar), Richard Mathieson (lead guitar), Ray Wilson (bass) and John Bott (drums).

Artist information sources include: The book, 'Tapestry of Delights Revisited' by Vernon Joynson.
