The Movin' Morfomen

From: Espanola, NM, USA

Little is known of this New Mexico pop outfit that formed in early 1966 and ended up issuing a total of five singles on various regional labels throughout the late 60s. They were very popular around the local area and garnered a handful of regional hits. Original members included Dave Rarick (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Rudy Maestas (guitar, vocals), Danny Gavurnik (trumpet, guitar, vocals), Anthony Martinez (bass) and Ed Valdez (drums).

Most of their records were released under the shortened moniker the Morfomen, but they were generally better known by their fans as the Movin' Morfomen. In 1971, Rarick reformed the band with a different lineup and recorded several demos, including the excellent 'What's Happened To Me?' featured here on TWOS.

Artist information sources include: The book, 'Fuzz, Acid, and Flowers Revisited' by Vernon Joynson.
