This little known Scottish foursome was behind one of the best 60s British psychedelic 45s ever recorded ('Fredereek Hernando' b/w 'Double Sight'). Members included Alan Young (guitar, vocals), Billy Fisher (bass) and brothers Jimmy (guitar, vocals) and Jack McCulloch (drums). Jimmy was a musical child prodigy who picked up the guitar at 10½ years old and started playing professionally at age 11.

The band formed in 1964 and was originally known as the Jaygars, changing their moniker to One In A Million prior to issuing their first single ('Use Your Imagination' b/w 'Hold On') on the CBS label in early 1967. This record is a more straight forward mod-R&B effort and pales in comparison to their afformentioned late '67 MGM follow-up masterpiece. Both songs on this record are no less than excellent, with the A-side being a tad more psychedelic, featuring a spot-on use of instrument and vocal phasing. The B-side sounds a lot like the Who, but is very original in its own right and includes an outstanding backwards guitar solo. Unfortunately, neither side of the 45 caught on at the time, resulting in the record and the group fading into obscurity. Jimmy McCulloch would however go on to become a prominent guitarist, playing in Thunderclap Newman and Paul McCartney's Wings to name a few. Jack McCulloch also made a mark later in the Five Day Week Straw People.
