From: Glasgow, Scotland
The Societie was a short-lived band out of Glasgow that formed in July, 1966 and was originally called A Certain Societie. Members included Robbie Burns (lead guitar, vocals), David "Suzie" Struthers (bass), Archie "Smiler" Frame (drums) and Dave Dougall (keyboards, guitar).
The group issued one 45 ('Bird Has Flown' b/w 'Breaking Down') in late 1967 on the Deram label, which was recorded in London and produced by the Hollies lead singer Allan Clarke. The A-side of their record is quite good and was written by Dougall and Burns. After the group had split, Dougall went on to join the members of Andwellas Dream, who then shortened their name to Andwella.
